Why we need international day of democracy?
Democracy is a form of government in which people choose their leader by voting for them. Its roots can be tracked back to the time of the ancient Greeks.
Today the goal of democracy is to preserve and promote the dignity and rights of the individual, achieved social equality and Justice, and nature economic and social development to ensyre the wellbeing of society.
The UN has declared 15th September as International Day of democracy with the aim of rising public awareness and strengthening the idea of democracy around the world.
