IPL 2022: Details and Format

IPL is back again in India with the crowd in the stadium. IPL 2022 is one of the biggest event in this calender year with ICC T20 World cup in the row in October. After the pandemic the cricketing fever is back in India and will take place in April-May. After the mega auctions this year every team has made up a core team for the future.

Players to look for:-

Ishan Kishan – A promising young wicketkeeper batsman and a leader who captained the U19 team in 2015 WC. Mumbai Indians bought him in a huge amount of 15.25 Crores.

Deepak Chahar – An extraordinary talent in fast bowling lineup for team India. CSK shows faith in him and purchased him for a whopping 14 Crores.

Shreyas Iyer – A good choice for Captain and a wonderful investment in terms of future by KKR for 12.75 Crores.

Dewald Brevis – A young sensation in U19 WC. Even consider as next ABD.

Liam Livingston – The English allrounder is well chosen by PBKS in whooping 11.5 Crores. The pressure of high price is obvious but he knows how to handle it.

There are 70 league games in only 4 venues and all in Maharashtra. 3 venues are in Mumbai and 4th one is in Pune. It is decided that Wankhede and DY Patil stadium will host 20 games and the remaining two stadiums will host 15 games each.

It is likely that the playoffs can be played in Ahmedabad.

This year total 10 teams are participating. So instead of a single group BCCI decided to divide in 2 groups. There are 5 teams in each group. Each team will play 5 teams twice and 4 teams one time.
To decide the group BCCI found an unique solution and decided the group on basis of no. of times a team crowned the IPL following by the teams reached the finals.
